LOOK After release, Jinggoy reunites with dad, Manila Mayor Erap

Former President and incumbent Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada on Saturday shared on social media the moment he got reunited with his son, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, shortly after the latter's temporary release from detention.

In a photo posted on the mayor's Facebook page, the father and son were all smiles after Jinggoy arrived from the Philippine National Police Custodial Center, where the lawmaker had spent the last three years detained over graft and plunder charges.

The elder Estrada himself had spent time in detention for over six years after he was charged with plunder following his ouster in 2001.

In 2007, the Sandiganbayan convicted him but he was freed shortly after when President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo granted him executive clemency.

His son, who is facing graft and corruption charges, ordered temporarily released by the Fifth Division of the Sandiganbayan after his lawyers posted a P1.3-million bail.

Jinggoy had been detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City since 2014 for supposedly pocketing allocations sourced from the Priority Development Assistance Fund or pork barrel.
